| Description: | Events, workshops, and training are critical components of NEEA’s Partner Services goal to support utilities and other energy efficiency organizations. In addition to successful delivery of Efficiency Connections Northwest, an annual conference to promote collaboration and information sharing among utility energy efficiency staff and other energy efficiency professionals, Partner Services is tasked with developing and hosting workshops, trainings, and other events on topics of interest that allow for information exchange and promote learning that contributes to the achievement of regional energy efficiency goals.
The primary objective of the position is to develop a plan to implement events in accordance with Partner Services’ strategic plan for program offerings (i.e., events, workshops, training) and effectively manage and continuously improve the delivery of those offerings. The Partner Services Program Manager also is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders in the region with whom NEEA may partner to execute events.
Accordingly, this position requires excellent project management skills, the ability to be creative and strategic in thinking about opportunities for activities in support of Partner Services goals, excellent collaboration skills to develop and implement programs and the ability to work independently and autonomously in executing position responsibilities. |
| Duties: | Essential Functions:
• Design, implement, evaluate and evolve a robust suite of Partner Services offerings (e.g., events, workshops, and training) that achieve Partner Services objectives.
• Conduct regular needs assessments to determine what types of programs will provide best value to NEEA’s utility stakeholders.
• Manage logistical planning and execution of Efficiency Connections NW, an annual regional conference for energy efficiency professionals in the region. Oversee support contractors working on the conference.
• Work with the Stakeholder Relationship Manager to develop workshops, training programs, and other activities for small, rural utility staff.
• Develop and manage relationships with key external organizations to leverage NEEA resources and develop and deliver workshops, education and training sessions for utility staff.
• Identify new organizations as appropriate to partner with on education and training; develop and execute work plans with key market partner organizations.
• Collaborate with other NEEA staff and coordinate Partner Services events with other NEEA programs, where appropriate.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of events and training, including problem identification, issue resolution, and timely escalation of issues, as appropriate, to senior management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities over NEEA staff but will be responsible for supervising and managing contractors. The incumbent provides lead direction and guidance to their work group and contractors and provides assistance to management in achieving work group success. Takes lead role in cross-functional programs. |
| Qualifications: | Education and/or Experience; Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
• Required: BA or BS degree.
• Desirable: Master degree a plus.
• Desirable: Work experience in an energy, utility, or regulatory environment. Knowledge and/or experience with energy efficiency. Sustainability planning and business experience also desirable.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Project Management Ability: Experienced project manager with know-how to develop and manage project plans. Communicates changes and progress, completes projects on time and within budget and manages project team activities.
• Analytical Skills: Able to effectively research customer needs. Analyzes/synthesizes complex or diverse qualitative information. Uses intuition and experience to complement data. Identifies stakeholder needs and recommends and develops actions/plans to meet those needs.
• Business Acumen Knowledge: Understands energy, utility and/or energy efficiency industries and the implications of decisions and messaging. Aligns work with strategic goals. Ability to quickly comprehend NEEA’s portfolio of energy efficiency activities and their relevance to stakeholders and their energy efficiency programs and priorities. High degree of adaptability and the ability to help define and refine the position in order to meet desired outcomes.
